This site is now under a well overdue reconstruction and is aimed to be a good source of information on what is happening around Huddersfield with regards chess so please keep coming back for updates.

It will be the home of the Hudderfield & District Chess Association and the Huudersfield Chess Club but will also hold information relating to other clubs around the district.

Huddersfield Chess Club AGM

This is scheduled for Wednesday 24th July 2024 at the Lindley Liberal Club from 7:30pm. It is traditionally only for Club members to attend but it is open for anyone interested in our Club. 

From 2:00pm - 4:00pm on a Saturday the Huddersfield Library hosts a Chess Club for all abilities.

Club Night

Club night is on a Wednesday from 7:30pm at the Lindley Liberal Club. All playing strengths are welcomed including juniors.

The HDCA leagues have now concluded until September but we will be holding internal tournaments for those wishing to play competitive chess.

AGM

Our annual general meeting will be taking place shortly where plans will be put in place to bring our Club back to where we were before the pandemic.

We have plans to restart the Huddersfield Congress ... probably in 2025 - full developments will be announced here in due course.
